- Serrated outer faces:
The hardened serrations bite into the bolt/nut and the mating surface to provide a secure grip.
- Internal cam design:
Angled cams that are steeper than the thread pitch create a ‘wedge effect’. When loosening forces are applied, the cams lock together, maintaining the clamping force.
- No retightening required:

Connections can only be released by hand force, eliminating the need for ongoing checks.
Why choose a wedge-shaped locking washer instead of traditional options?
Traditional methods are regarded as ‘locking’, but in reality they can still loosen and fail under dynamic conditions and vibration.

The Wedgewasher stands out in the following areas:

  • A single ‘locking’ washer relies on friction, which varies and does not provide true locking. Such washers lose a large proportion of their clamping force when the joint moves and under dynamic loads.
  • Common prevailing-torque nuts: These grip the thread but continue to loosen under dynamic loads—even a quarter turn causes a dramatic reduction in clamping force.
  • The Wedgewasher advantage: It has been proven to retain more than 80% of its clamping force after 2,000 cycles in the rigorous Junker test (DIN 25201), outperforming alternative solutions.

BOXBOLT

BoxBolt is a fully tested and CE-certified blind fastening solution for steel hollow sections, whether used with hollow structural sections or in situations where access is limited to one side only. BoxBolt is available in three finishes: zinc-plated, hot-dip galvanised or stainless steel. Combined with three different BoxBolt lengths, these finishes make the product exceptionally versatile and suitable for any environment and application. BoxBolt is approved for use by Lloyd’s Register (LR), giving both designers and end users confidence.

BEAMCLAMP

BeamClamp is a comprehensive range of steel-to-steel connection products, designed to create connections without the need for drilling or welding. The clamping system gives designers the assurance of a guaranteed safe working load, while offering installers flexibility during installation and reducing total costs. The system is also ideal for locations where drilling or welding is not permitted, or where access and power supply are limited.

Using BeamClamp for steel-to-steel connections makes it much easier to adjust the connection afterwards: simply loosen the bolts, realign the components and retighten the bolts.
